Key Decision Point. (NPR 7150.2A)

Each phase of the NASA Program or Project life cycle is typically marked by a Key Decision Point (KDP), which usually is associated with a prescribed major design review. A KDP is an event wherein the decision authority determines the readiness of a program/project to progress to the next phase of the life cycle. See also gate. (NPR 7150.2B)
